Free on every fare: one small bag up to 40 x 30 x 15 cm that fits under the seat in front of you. On the cheapest Basic fare this is the only included bag β€” hand baggage is not included by default.

A full cabin bag up to 55 x 35 x 25 cm (including handles and wheels) is included from the Light fare upward; the small bag plus hand baggage may weigh up to 12kg combined. On a Basic fare the full cabin bag is not included and must be purchased.

πŸ” Change & cancellation

Basic and Light are the most restrictive fares: changes incur a fee plus any fare difference and the ticket is largely non-refundable (taxes may be refundable). Standard allows changes for a fee, and Flex offers the most flexible rebooking and refund terms. A short grace period applies to bookings made directly with KLM. Check the exact fare conditions at the time of booking.

How to avoid extra fees

  • Every fare includes a free under-seat bag up to 40 x 30 x 15 cm, so a short trip with hand baggage only can cost nothing extra.
  • On the cheapest Basic fare the full cabin bag is NOT included β€” add it as a paid option or choose the Light fare or higher, which includes it.
  • Economy Basic and Light have no free checked bag; if you must check luggage, compare adding a bag vs. booking the Standard fare which includes a 23kg bag.
  • Always pre-pay checked bags online or in My Trip β€” airport prices are higher than online.
  • Use the KLM baggage calculator before you fly, because the euro price changes with route and how early you pay.
